It treats trust as something maintained at network level, not rebuilt by every buyer at every onboarding.
Without it, each buyer verifies the same supplier from scratch, stores the result in its own system and watches it go stale. The supplier, meanwhile, submits the same documents to every customer. Trust infrastructure verifies once against authoritative sources, keeps the record current, and makes the verified state available to the relationships that depend on it.
The effect is both less duplicated effort and better protection. Because identity and bank details are verified and continuously maintained rather than captured once, the gaps that invoice redirection and supplier impersonation exploit are much harder to open.

Supplier trust infrastructure verifies a supplier once against authoritative sources, keeps that verification current, and shares the verified state across the network so the work is not repeated by every buyer.
Does it remove the need for our own checks?
It removes the duplicated, manual checks that every buyer would otherwise repeat, and keeps a maintained record of identity and bank details. Buyers retain their own approval and payment controls on top of that verified base.
